Merritt Island

Ross and I found a trail to hike about 2 miles long it is called the Palm Hammock which is on Merritt Island. It was very nice trails and in some areas had a boardwalk.

This was a dried up creek bed full of wet mud.

Ross continuing on the trail we found it also in the shady spots to be full of mosquitoes.

Palm fronds on the ground and new ones growing all the time. They had cabbage palms that were lower to the ground.

This palm tree didn't quite make it straight up, it had a curved trunk and was low to the ground

Here is the boardwalk, however most of the trail was dirt.

Here is another curved palm.

We ran across a wild orange tree and then we found out later that a couple had owned this land in the 1600's and had grown orange trees.

This was an unusual formation on the tree with knots on it but it looked like a man with a grissly beard or warts.

Here I captured a picture of a wild buzzard, there were many of them feeding on a dead fish.

Here is the main building Vehicle Assembly Building where they assemble the shuttle at the Kennedy Space Center, the American Flag on here is the biggest flag painted on any building. It is 209 x 110 feet wide.

Here I am next to the Explorer. They let you go inside and look inside.

Ross and I are in Titusville, FL where we are planning on watching the shuttle launch which will take place on February 24, 2011

Here is Ross at the Kennedy Space Center in the Rocket Garden. All these rockets are real and of the real size. They just never shot them off.

This is the astronaut that greets you at the entrance of the Kennedy Space Center.

The capsule I am not sure if it is one of the Apollos.

Here is the large rocket boosters. You cannot even imagine how big these are.

This was a ride where they do a simulation shuttle launch.

Northrop T-38 Talon supersonic jet. The flight crew of Nasa space mission fly this plane from Houston to Kennedy Space Center a few days before their mission. They also fly this plane to keep their flying skills up to day.

Here I am, Miss Eva astronaut.

Here is Ross my partner in crime!

We took a bus tour to the actual launch pad 39 and you can see the orange tip is the fuel tank.

Here is Ross and the launch pad in the back ground.

Here I am in front of the launch pad. It was really windy up there.

Space Shuttle Main Engine, this space shuttle main engine, flew on three different orbiters, over a period of over eight years. It was retired after completing over 15 different space flights.

Space Shuttle main engine, look how big it is in relation to the size of Ross.

Manatee siting Titusville, FL

Manatee near Cool Change

Here is a manatee they are a relative of the elephant. They eat vegatation they travel right just below the water level so alot of them have scars from boat motors. They are so docile. You are not suppose to feed them, or give them fresh water or touch them. They are so cool looking their tails look like beaver tails.

We encountered a manatee close to our boat. I was using some fresh water to clean the boat, and I guess they really like fresh water so they like to drink the fresh water from the boats.

This manatee looks like he is smiling.

The manatee eat vegatation so it was eating some of the stuff off our boat. It was so funny.

This manatee looked like it was climbing up on the ladder.
