Another beautiful calm day in paradise Ross and John cleaned the bottom of the boat and I relaxed and read some of my book and I went kayaking it was a beautiful calm day to do that. After the guys got out, I made lunch and then we went to shore. We walked around the Coconut Grove area, I went into the Tervis' shop, they are closing down everything is 50% off I bought three of the large mugs and three more different colored lids for the coffee cups and some straws also. We went to the Sandbar and had smoked fish appetizers.  We then took the trolley up to the grocery store near the Home Depot. Ross went to the Home Depot and John and I got a good weeks worth of groceries we took the trolley it was pretty cool it's free also then we went back  to the boat dropped off the groceries and then we went to Monty's and had dinner and drinks Ross and I had the blackened grouper fish and John had the tuna salad which was really good they were so slow that they gave us a free key lime pie.

Here I am kayaking nice calm waters.

Ross getting ready to clean the boat.

John is going to help Ross clean the sides of the boat.

Getting scuba gear ready to scrub the boat.

John in the water holding on the to kayak rope so he doesn't  drift away.

Ross after cleaning the boat you can see some of the small critters that are on the barnacles. They are weird they get in his beard you have to really hose him off good.

Kris will be taking the redeye tonight and should be arriving at the same time John did tomorrow around 9:30 AM. Mike Sharp is going to come tomorrow and we will meet him for lunch.

Thursday May 11, 2017

Another gorgeous day in paradise John and Ross are finishing up the boat so we plan on heading out on Sunday.  Have to check on the weather of course.  This will be an awesome adventure. We went back to the boat and took it to the marina and filled it with water and cleaned it up really well.

Ross and Gigi meeting with Mike Sharp.

Ross, Mike and John, Mike was passing through and he knows John too from when John lived in Dallas, so he stopped by for a visit and we went to lunch at Green Street.

  Friday May 12, 2017

Kris arrived around 10:30 we were at the Burger King. Pretty warm today. We stopped at Berries again and Kris and I split a tuna wrap. We went to the liquor store and got some gin, beer, and tonic.

I made some pina coladas, yum good. We had some appetizers and Kris brought some king salmon that was great, that John caught in Alaska.

The sunset tonight was beautiful. And the moon is a bright red. Haven't seen anything like it.

Saturday May 13, 2017

Another beautiful day here in the Grove , but rather windy. We will go to shore and get some more groceries for the rest of our trip, as we will be heading out tomorrow.  We went to shore and Kris and I did a little shopping, I took her to the Tervis store where we bought some cups I found a cup for my sister that said the best sister, and I bought a ice keeper. With a parrot on it.  Ross and John went to some auto parts store to find some plugs for the dingy. After they got back we went across the street to the Masa taco Ria. I had chicken tacos and Ross ordered shredded pork, really good.  We then walked over to the market boy  it was hot out.  We then relaxed awhile I took a shower and then we got ready to go to the Peacock Gardens for our early Mothers Day dinner. I made a 7 pm reservation, the food was delicious.  John ordered a fish they cooked in a bag. I had a seafood medal you of mussels, shrimp, a white fish, and risotto which is a white rice/noodle. Kris had a mahi mahi sandwich and Ross had the tuna. We listened to the jazz band.
After dinner, we headed up to the 8th floor of the Sonesta hotel where you can see out over Dinner Key,and the guys got coconut/banana coladas they were yummy. We left Gigi on board no dogs allowed at Sonesta.  Good night tomorrow begins our trip out.

As we were going to shore we saw a boat with Captain Morgan that is the name of Kris and Johns black lab back home in Utah.

 Dingy ride to shore.

We went to Peacock Garden on Saturday for an early Mother's Day dinner and we listen to the jazz band.

John ordered calamari for an appetizer. Kris isn't too sure about that.

 John eating the calamari.

Sunday May 14, 2017

We decided to take the boat to the marina to top off the water and dump the poop. The pooper pumper was not working but we filled up the water and John and Kris dumped the trash. This trip will take approx. 5 hours to complete we go about 8 knots which is a slow clip but we plan on fishing. John got the lines ready and shortly after he caught a mackerel. I caught a Red porgy, which we found out after looking it up in a fish adentifyer. I made lunch for everyone. We could start smelling fire but part of Florida has grass fires and we can see and smell them.  Nasty stuff. We are at Pumpkin Key for the night, the mosquitoes are rather bad out here. We made spaghetti for dinner salad and red Italian whine Pinot Noir.  Yummy.
Tomorrow Ross said should it be a calm day so we plan on going diving/snorkeling. I may sit this one out unless it is too rough.
Today should be another good one.

Ross and John trying to figure out something.

Kris on the dock as we clean up the boat and put fresh water in the tanks.

Here we go off to the first overnight at Pumpkin Key.

John starting to fish, looks like he may have caught something.

Kris taking a nap this first leg of our trip is 5 hours good time to snooze.

I caught a fish Red Porgy???? Thats what we think anyways by looking at the fish book.

Had a little rain shower and a nice rainbow.

Nice way to end a great day, spaghetti dinner with a bottle of Pino Noir. wine from Italy.

Ross just looking at the beautiful sunset.

 Monday 15, 2017

We left Pumpkin Key without a hitch. The seas are as smooth as glass wonderful!!!!  First stop of the day Key Largo Dry Rocks in John Penecamp National Park, for an awesome snorkel.  The water is perfect nice and cool for a hot May Day in Florida.  We snorkeled for at least an hour then we headed out for a dive site called French Reef. Kris attempted to dive but it has been awhile since she has so she decided to let the guys go alone.  Also a fish bot her elbow and left a circle mark.  We are now parked at Rodriguez Key, lower Key Largo.

Getting the lines ready to anchor near John Penacamp National Park for a day of snorkeling.

Kris is ready to go.
