Alice Town North Bimini, Bahama 5/9/2015
We have finally left Florida and are on our way to the Bahamas and blue waters. It has been a great dream and it is finally happening. The weather looks ideal, 2-4 foot waves with an occasional 5 footer, so we are planning on leaving today a day earlier that we first predicted.
As we leave Bill Baggs State Park there is a Lighthouse at the end of the island and beautiful white sandy beach.
We see some neat dolphins in the distance.
The gauge went just to 314 feet in depth and that is all however, the other one showed over 500 feet in depth.
We decided to do some fishing, Ross is getting the line ready to go.
We have finally arrived in Alice Town, North Bimini and I can't believe how beautiful blue the water is, no comparison to FL. We are at Browns Marina for a couple of days until we can get our phone cards activated. We will try to do it today if we can. Ross has gone up to the immigration office to officially state that we have arrived for vacation with all the dog paperwork in hand. It is pretty humid here and we will probably have our air-condition on for good sleeping weather. You have to pay for your water here which is 30 cents a gallon. We will probably top off our water supply here before leaving you never know how expensive it will be further in.
Ross turned on the air conditioner and the upstairs one would not work, but after about 1/2 hour he figured out that a connection had come undone, thank goodness because it would of been pretty humid to sleep in these conditions. Anyways, we walked to town and found the telephone company where on Monday we can can get our sim cards and get some kind of connection.
We went to Big John's to get a bite to eat we both had cracked conch very tasty and of course, it was dog friendly for Gigi, we met some new neighbors, Gail and Cameron, he is from Scotland originally, but they are from Santa Barbara, CA their boat is name Skye, and they have a cute maltipu called Luci. Gigi and Luci bark at each other across the dock.
We watched our favorite show "Outlander" we could actually get it all the way from Bimini, Bahamas!!!
Gigi got tired so Ross had to carry her

This is South Bimini the Bimini Sand Resorts
A small little white beach with people on it.
There are big sand dunes where they have dredged out the canals.
A lone little island.
