Hopetown Elbow Cay Bahamas

Happy 31 anniversary to Ross and I.  What a great present to take an adventure to the Bahamas for a month wow!!  We will be going to Hope Town which is in Elbow Cay in the Bahamas.  Hope Town is located about three and a half miles from Marsh Harbour which we will be going to next. There is approximately 260 people. Cars and any other motor vehicles are prohibited in the town area of the island.  Many of the original colonial houses and picket fences still remain to this day.

The main attraction in Hope Town is most likely the 120 foot candy striped lighthouse.  Located across the harbor.  The structure was built in 1862 to warn sailors of the nearby reef and it is still operating today by a kerosene lamp, which is one of the world's last working fueled lighthouses. .  With the 101 steps to the top, you can experience the breathtaking view of Elbow Cay's harbor and the neighboring cays.

Another of the island's main attractions is the beautiful beach that stretches two miles on the eastern side of the island.  The beaches are a pinkish white, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or a scenic afternoon stroll.  There is a coral reef about 30 feet off the shore for snorkeling.

We have arrived here at Hope Town in Elbow Cay, what a cute quaint town, we plan on going over the bay to Capt Jacks restaurant looks cute.  We picked up a mooring ball here, it feels like the humidity is down today and feels pretty good.  Ross says the batteries might be going out on one of the batteries.  He says it feels pretty hot  That scares me I want to make sure I get home. ALIVE!!!!

Ross and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at the Hope Town Harbour Inn I had seared tuna with green beans and brown rice he had some fish with picatta sauce.  I tasted it and it was very good too.

This is where Ross and I had lunch at the Sugar Shack they have wraps and are also famous for their ice cream.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at the Hopetown Harbor Inn Marina, I had their seared tuna.  Ross also had a fish with picatta sauce with capers, white wine, lemon, and I believe olive oil it was also really good.  I had a pino grio white wine from Italy.  It was breezy but felt great!

This morning we had breakfast at the Hope Town Lodge it was a buffet and the view was great. They have a salt water pool which was beautiful! Flowers everywhere!! Ross and I then walked through the town, I bought a beautiful pair of conch shell coral colored earrings.

We may go up and see the lighthouse.  It has like 101 stairs you can go up and see the view clear around the island.  Should be nice picture taking time.

Dressed up for my anniversary dinner.

Here is an old building, they keep the buildings so well maintained, with their cute pastel colors of coral, tourquise, and pinks,

I took a picture of this stone it looks like the shape of Texas!!

This is what the streets look like very small alley ways with picket fences.

This is a memorial they have, it has nice flowers in it and blocks where you can sit on where important people left a memory of a tile in their honor.
